Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Ma'mar ibn Rashid said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: "A Jew came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family); while standing in front of him, he stared sharply at the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family). The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'O Jew, what is your need?' He answered: 'Are you superior, or Musa ibn Imran (peace be upon him), with whom Allah spoke, upon whom He sent down the Torah, for whom He split the sea, and over whom He spread shade with the clouds?' The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) said to the Jew: 'It is not becoming for a servant of Allah to praise himself, but I say to you: When Adam (peace be upon him) committed his lapse and wished to repent, he said: "O my Lord! I ask You by the right of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and the Family of Muhammad (peace be upon them) that You forgive me." So Allah forgave him... And Musa (peace be upon him), when he cast down his staff, felt a slight fear in his heart and said: "O Allah! I ask You by the right of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and the Family of Muhammad (peace be upon them) that You grant me safety." So Allah the Exalted said to him: لا تَخَفْ إِنَّکَ أَنْتَ الْأَعْلی [Fear not! Surely you are the uppermost (victorious) one].'"
