فَعَتَوا عَن أَمرِ رَبِّهِم أَیْ فَخَرَجُوا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ تَرَفُّعاً عَنْهُ وَ اسْتِکْبَاراً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَهًُْ بَعْدَ مُضِیِّ الْأَیَّامِ الثَّلَاثَهًِْ وَ هُوَ الْمَوْتُ.
ابن‌عبّاس (رحمة الله علیه)- فَعَتَوا عَن أَمرِ رَبِّهِم؛ یعنی به خاطر تکبّر از دستور پروردگارشان سرپیچی کردند؛ پس صاعقه آن‌ها را فرا گرفت؛ و مردند.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah have mercy on him): فَعَتَوا عَن أَمرِ رَبِّهِم [So they rebelled against the command of their Lord]; that is, out of arrogance they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so the thunderbolt seized them and they died.
ઇબ્ને અબ્બાસ (રહમતુલ્લાહિ અલયહિ): فَعَتَوا عَن أَمرِ رَبِّهِم [તેમણે પોતાના રબના આદેશથી બગાવત કરી]; એટલે કે અહંકારના કારણે તેમણે પોતાના પરવરદિગારના આદેશની અવજ્ઞા કરી; પછી વીજળીએ તેમને પકડી લીધા; અને તેઓ મરી ગયા.
