Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): Jabir said: Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: "When the Day of Resurrection arrives and Allah the Mighty and Majestic raises up the earlier and later peoples for fasl al-khitab (the decisive judgement), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) and the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) are summoned. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) is clothed in a green robe that illuminates all between the east and the west, and Ali (peace be upon him) is clothed in one like it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) is clothed in a rose-coloured robe that illuminates all between the east and the west, and Ali (peace be upon him) is clothed in one like it. Then, at that moment, they ascend, and we are summoned, and the reckoning of the people is handed over to us. Then the prophets are summoned, and they stand in two rows near the Throne of Allah the Blessed and Exalted until the reckoning of the people is completed. When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, the Almighty Lord sends Ali (peace be upon him), and he places them in their dwellings in Paradise and marries them to one another. By Allah, it is Ali (peace be upon him) who marries the people of Paradise to one another in Paradise, and this is a gift from Allah the Blessed and Exalted that belongs to him alone and to no one else — a virtue by which Allah has favoured him and bestowed His grace upon him. And by Allah, it is he who dispatches the people of the Fire to the Fire, and it is he who, when the people of Paradise have entered it, closes its gates, for the gates of Paradise and the gates of the Fire are turned towards him and at his disposal."
