Imam al-Askari (peace be upon him): When [Bani Israel], in that dry wilderness, were overtaken by thirst and cried out weeping to Musa (peace be upon him), saying "We have perished from thirst," Musa (peace be upon him) sought water for them and said: "My Allah! By the right of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), master of the prophets, and by the right of Ali (peace be upon him), master of the successors, and by the right of Fatimah (peace be upon her), mistress of women, and by the right of al-Hasan (peace be upon him), master of the guardians, and by the right of al-Husayn (peace be upon him), master of the martyrs, and by the right of their family and successors, masters of the pure, I ask You to send water down upon these servants of Yours ..." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Whoever stands firm in love and wilayah (guardianship) for us, the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), Allah the Exalted will quench him from the cup of His love, in such a way that he will want nothing in its place, and will seek no protector, sufficer or helper besides Him. And whoever bears the hardships that come along the path of our wilayah and endures them, Allah will place him, on the Day of Resurrection, in the plains of the Gathering, in a place where the eyes of everyone present in those plains will fall short of seeing his ranks. Indeed, each one of them will have full command of his own ranks, just as in this world he had full command of what lay before his eyes."
