Imam Ali (peace be upon him): With the emergence of the Beast of the Earth, a distinction is made between truth and falsehood. The people of Rome will come toward a village on the seashore near the Cave of the Youths, and Allah will raise up the youths from their cave toward them. Among them is a man called "Malikha" and another man called "Kamsalmina," and they are the two submitting witnesses to the rising of the Qa'im (may Allah hasten his noble relief). His Eminence sends one of the People of the Cave toward Rome, and he cannot accomplish anything, and he sends another who returns victorious. That day is the interpretation (ta'wil) of this verse: "And all those in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, submit before His [command]." (Al Imran/83) Then Allah raises from every nation a group so that they may see what they were promised, and that day is the interpretation of this verse: وَ یَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ مِنْ کُلِّ أُمَّةٍ فَوْجاً مِمَّنْ یُکَذِّبُ بِآیاتِنا فَهُمْ یُوزَعُونَ [And on the day when We will gather from every nation a party from among those who rejected Our communications, then they shall be formed into groups], and fear causes the trembling of their hearts. And the Siddiq al-Akbar (the Greatest Truthful One) moves with the banner of guidance and the sword Dhul-Fiqar and something like a whip, until he descends twice upon the land of the migration, which is Kufa. He demolishes its mosque and rebuilds it upon its original construction, and demolishes the houses of the tyrants that are below the mosque, and proceeds to Basra until he overlooks its sea, and with him are the Ark (Tabut) and the staff of Musa (peace be upon him). Then he resolves upon conquering Basra and releases his breath with a pause, until Basra becomes a deep sea, and nothing remains in it except its mosque, which remains like the prow of a ship on the surface of the water. Then he goes to "Harura" to set it ablaze, and proceeds from the gate of Banu Saqif to release his breath with a pause among the tribe of Thaqif, who are the crop of Pharaoh. Then he goes to Egypt and ascends its pulpit and delivers a sermon to the people, and gives the earth glad tidings of justice. The sky sends forth its rain, the trees their fruits, and the earth its plants, and the earth is adorned for its inhabitants, and the wild beasts find safety, to the point that they graze on the earth like domestic livestock. Knowledge is cast into the hearts of the believers, and no believer has need of the scholarly matters possessed by his believing brother.
