الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِی ... عَجَزَتِ الْمَلَائِکَهًُْ عَلَی قُرْبِهِمْ مِنْ کُرْسِیِّ کَرَامَتِهِ وَ طُولِ وَلَهِهِمْ إِلَیْهِ وَ تَعْظِیمِ جَلَالِ عِزِّهِ وَ قُرْبِهِمْ مِنْ غَیْبِ مَلَکُوتِهِ أَنْ یَعْلَمُوا مِنْ أَمْرِهِ إِلَّا مَا أَعْلَمَهُمْ وَ هُمْ مِنْ مَلَکُوتِ الْقُدْسِ بِحَیْثُ هُمْ وَ مِنْ مَعْرِفَتِهِ عَلَی مَا فَطَرَهُمْ عَلَیْهِ أَنْ قَالُوا سُبْحانَکَ لا عِلْمَ لَنا إِلَّا ما عَلَّمْتَنا.
امام صادق (علیه السلام) حمد مخصوص خدائی است که ... همه‌ی فرشتگان با وجود نزدیکی ایشان به کرسیّ کرامت او و مدّت طولانی سرگردانیشان در [عظمت] خدا و نیز بزرگ‌داشتن جلال عزّتش و نزدیک بودنشان به غیب ملکوت، از دانستن چیزی غیر از آنچه خدا به آنان آموخت، عاجز بودند جایگاه آنان در عالم ملکوت قدس الهی، فقط محصور به همان جایگاه است و علم و معرفتشان به اندازه‌ایست که آن‌ها را آفریده؛ لذا آنان در جواب خداوند گفتند: سُبْحانَکَ لا عِلْمَ لَنا إِلّا ما عَلَّمْتَنا
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Praise is due exclusively to the Allah who ... all the angels, despite their nearness to the throne of His honor and their long absorption in [the majesty of] Allah, and their exaltation of the grandeur of His might, and their nearness to the unseen of the dominion, were incapable of knowing anything besides what Allah taught them. Their station in the realm of the sacred dominion is confined to that very station, and their knowledge and understanding are to the extent that He created them for; therefore they said in answer to Allah: سُبْحانَکَ لا عِلْمَ لَنا إِلّا ما عَلَّمْتَنا [Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us].
ઇમામ સાદિક (અલયહિસ્સલામ): પ્રશંસા ફક્ત તે અલ્લાહને લાયક છે જે ... તમામ ફરિશ્તાઓ, તેમની (અલ્લાહની) ઇઝ્ઝતના કુર્સી (તખ્ત) સાથેની નિકટતા હોવા છતાં, અને [અલ્લાહની અઝમત]માં તેમના લાંબા સમયના ઇશ્કમાં ડૂબેલા હોવા છતાં, અને તેમની ઇઝ્ઝતની બુલંદીના સન્માન તથા મલકૂત (સામ્રાજ્ય)ના ગૈબની નિકટતા હોવા છતાં, અલ્લાહે તેમને જે શીખવ્યું તે સિવાય કંઈ પણ જાણવા અસમર્થ હતા. તેમનું સ્થાન અલ્લાહના પવિત્ર મલકૂતમાં ફક્ત તે જ સ્થાન સુધી મર્યાદિત છે અને તેમનું જ્ઞાન અને ઓળખ તેટલી જ છે જેટલી તેમને પેદા કરવામાં આવ્યા છે; તેથી તેમણે અલ્લાહના જવાબમાં કહ્યું: سُبْحانَکَ لا عِلْمَ لَنا إِلّا ما عَلَّمْتَنا [તું પાક છે! તેં અમને જે શીખવ્યું છે તે સિવાય અમને કોઈ જ્ઞાન નથી].
