Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): [Do not follow the footsteps of Satan]; every oath by other than [the name of] Allah is among the footsteps of Satan.

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): Muhammad ibn Muslim narrated from Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) that he was asked: "A woman has made such a vow that all the wealth she has shall be an offering and gift to the Kaaba, and every slave she owns shall be freed, if she ever speaks a word with her sister." He said: "Let her speak with her, these vows are not vows; these and their like are the footsteps of Satan. [O you who believe! Do not follow the footsteps of Satan, and whoever follows the footsteps of Satan, then surely he bids the doing of indecency and evil]."
