Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): Abu Basir narrated from Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) that he said: The Qaim (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance) will not rise, and you will not see what you desire, until the descendants of so-and-so fall into disagreement among themselves. When that happens, people will set their eyes on their rule and talk will break out from every side, and the Sufyani will rise. And he also said: The Banu Fulan will certainly reign; when they have reigned and their affair leads to disagreement, they will be scattered and their rule will slip from their hands, until the Khurasani and the Sufyani, one from the east and the other from the west, like two horses in a race, one from this side and the other from that, will strive to enter Kufa first. And the destruction of the Banu Fulan will be at their hands. Not one of them will remain. Then he said: The coming of the Sufyani, the Yamani and the Khurasani will be in one year, one month and one day, like a necklace whose beads are strung one after the other. At that time those who wait will despair from every direction. Woe to those who oppose them. Among them there is no banner of truth except the banner of the Yamani. His people tread the path of truth, for he calls people to follow your master. When the Yamani rises, the sale of weapons is forbidden to every Muslim. When he rises, go to him, for his army is the army of truth, and it is not permissible for any Muslim to turn away from him. Whoever turns away from his call is counted among the people of the Fire, for he calls people to the truth and to a straight path.
