The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family): Ibn Abbas said: Two large camels were gifted to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family). He looked at his companions and said: 'Is there anyone among you who will pray two rak'ahs in which he pays no attention to any worldly matter and his heart is occupied with nothing but the remembrance of Allah? If so, I will give him one of these two camels.' Imam Ali (peace be upon him) stood up and prayed, and when he gave the salam of the prayer, Jibra'il (peace be upon him) descended and said: 'Give him one of these two camels.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'During the tashahhud of the prayer he thought about which of these two camels he should take.' Jibra'il (peace be upon him) said: 'He was thinking about which one of them was fatter so that he could take it, slaughter it, and give it as charity in the way of Allah. So his thought was for Allah, not for himself or for the world.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) gave him both camels, and Allah revealed this verse: إِنَّ فِی ذلِکَ لَذِکْری لِمَنْ کانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ [Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart] — that is, in the prayer of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) there is an admonition for everyone who has intellect; أَوْ أَلْقَی السَّمْعَ [or he gives ear] — that is, he listens with his two ears to what he recites with his tongue; وَ هُوَ شَهِیدٌ [and is a witness] — that is, his heart is present for Allah.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'There is no servant who prays two rak'ahs for Allah and does not think in them about any of the affairs of the world, but that Allah is pleased with him and forgives his sins.'
