سورة يوسف
Yusuf
[برادران يوسف] رو به‌سوى آن‌ها كردند و گفتند: «چه چيز گم كرده‌ايد»؟
They said while they were facing them: What is it that you miss?
(યુસુફના ભાઇઓએ) તેઓની સામે આવીને કહ્યું તમારી કઇ વસ્તુ ખોવાઇ ગઇ છે?
گفتند: «جام مخصوص پادشاه را! و هركس آن را بياورد، يك‌بارِ شتر [غلّه] به او داده مى‌شود؛ و من ضامن اين [پاداش] هستم».
They said: We miss the king's drinking cup, and he who shall bring it shall have a camel-load and I am responsible for it.
તેમણે કહ્યું કે બાદશાહનો (ખાસ) પ્યાલો અમારા (પાસે)થી ગુમ થઇ ગયો છે, અને જે તેને લાવશે તેને એક ઊંટનો ભાર (ઇનામ) મળશે અને તેનો હું જામીન છું.
گفتند: «به خدا سوگند شما مى‌دانيد ما نيامده‌ايم كه در اين سرزمين فساد كنيم؛ و ما هيچ‌گاه دزد نبوده‌ايم»!
They said: By Allah! you know for certain that we have not come to make mischief in the land, and we are not thieves.
તેમણે કહ્યું કે અલ્લાહની કસમ! તમે ખાત્રીથી જાણો છો કે અમે આ ઝમીનમાં ફસાદ કરવા નથી આવ્યા, અને અમે હરગિઝ ચોર ન હતા.
آن‌ها گفتند: «اگر دروغگو باشيد، كيفرش چيست»؟
They said: But what shall be the requital of this, if you are liars?
તેમણે કહ્યું કે અગર તમે જૂઠા હોવ તો તેની શું સજા થવી જોઇએ?
گفتند: «هركس [آن جام] در‌بارِ او پيدا شود، خودش كيفر آن خواهد بود؛ [و به خاطر اين كار، بَرده‌ی شما خواهد شد]؛ ما اين‌گونه ستمكاران را كيفر مى‌دهيم».
They said: The requital of this is that the person in whose bag it is found shall himself be (held for) the satisfaction thereof; thus do we punish the wrongdoers.
તેમણે કહ્યું કે જેના સામાનમાંથી તે મળી આવે (તેની સજામાં) તે શખ્સ પોતે તેનો બદલો બને; અમે ઝુલ્મ કરનારાઓને આ રીતે સજા કરીએ છીએ.
در‌اين‌هنگام، [يوسف] قبل از بارِ برادرش، به كاوش بارهاى آن‌ها (ساير برادرانش) پرداخت؛ سپس آن را از بارِ برادرش (بنيامين) بيرون آورد؛ اين‌گونه راه چاره را به يوسف ياد داديم. او هرگز نمى‌توانست برادرش را مطابق آيين پادشاه [مصر] بگيرد، مگر آنكه خدا بخواهد [و راه چاره را به او بياموزد]. درجات هركس را بخواهيم بالا مى‌بريم؛ و برتر از هر صاحب علمى، عالِمى است [و از همه برتر خداست].
So he began with their sacks before the sack of his brother, then he brought it out from his brother's sack. Thus did We plan for the sake of Yusuf; it was not (lawful) that he should take his brother under the king's law unless Allah pleased; We raise the degrees of whomsoever We please, and above every one possessed of knowledge is the All-knowing one.
પછી તે (યુસુફ)ના (સગા) ભાઇના સામાન (તપાસવા) પહેલાં તેના (બીજા) ભાઇઓના સામાન (તપાસવા)થી શરૂઆત કરી, (છેવટે) તેના (સગા) ભાઇના સામાનમાંથી તે (પ્યાલો) કાઢ્યો. આ રીતે અમોએ યુસુફના માટે (તેના ભાઇને રોકી લેવાની) યોજના ઘડી; (કારણ કે) મિસરના બાદશાહના કાનૂન મુજબ પોતાના ભાઇને પકડી શકત નહી સિવાય કે અલ્લાહ ચાહે; અમે જેને ચાહીએ છીએ તેના દરજ્જા બુલંદ કરી દઇએ છીએ; અને દરેક ઇલ્મ ધરાવનાર કરતા વધારે ઇલ્મ ધરાવનાર હોય છે.
[برادران] گفتند: «اگر او (بنيامين) سرقت كند، [جاى تعجّب نيست]؛ برادرش [يوسف] نيز قبل از او سرقت كرد»! يوسف [سخت ناراحت شد، و] اين [ناراحتى] را در درون خود پنهان داشت، و براى آن‌ها آشكار نكرد؛ [همين اندازه] گفت: «شما از نظر منزلت [نزد من] از او بدتريد. و خدا از آنچه وصف مى‌كنيد، آگاه‌تر است».
They said: If he steal, a brother of his did indeed steal before; but Yusuf kept it secret in his heart and did not disclose it to them. He said: You are in an evil condition and Allah knows best what you state.
તેમણે કહ્યું કે, તેણે ચોરી કરી છે. તેના ભાઇએ પણ અગાઉ ચોરી કરી હતી (યુસુફને ગુસ્સો આવ્યો) પરંતુ યુસુફે (ગુસ્સાને) પોતાના મનમાં છુપાવી રાખ્યો અને તે તેમના પર જાહેર કર્યો નહિ. તેણે કહ્યું કે તમે (આના કરતા) ખરાબ માણસો છો અને તમે જે બયાન કરો છો તે અલ્લાહ સારી રીતે જાણે છે.
گفتند: «اى عزيز! او پدر بسيار پيرى دارد [كه طاقت دورى او را ندارد]؛ يكى از ما را به‌جاى او بگير؛ ما تو را از نيكوكاران مى‌بينيم».
They said: O chief! he has a father, a very old man, therefore retain one of us in his stead; surely we see you to be of the doers of good.
તેઓએ કહ્યું: અય અઝીઝ! ખરેખર તેના વાલિદ ઘરડા છે. માટે તેના બદલામાં અમારામાંથી કોઇ એકને લઇ લે, બેશક અમે તને અહેસાન કરનારા માંહેનો દેખીએ છીએ.
گفت: «پناه بر خدا كه ما غير از آن كس كه متاع خود را نزد او يافته‌‌‌ايم بگيريم؛ كه در آن صورت، از ستمكاران خواهيم بود».
He said: Allah protect us that we should seize other than him with whom we found our property, for then most surely we would be unjust.
તેણે કહ્યું : અલ્લાહ એ (વાત)થી બચાવે કે જેની પાસેથી અમારો માલ મળ્યો હોય, તેના સિવાય કોઇ બીજાને (કબજામાં) લઇએ. કે તે હાલતમાં ખરેખર અમે ઝાલિમ થઇ જશું.
هنگامى‌كه [برادران] از او مأيوس شدند، به كنارى رفتند و با هم به نجوا پرداختند؛ [برادر] بزرگشان گفت: «آيا نمى‌دانيد پدرتان از شما پيمان الهى گرفته و پيش از اين درباره‌ی يوسف نيز، كوتاهى كرديد؟! من از اين سرزمين حركت نمى‌كنم، تا پدرم به من اجازه دهد؛ يا خدا درباره‌ی من حكم كند، كه او بهترين حكم‌كنندگان است.
Then when they despaired of him, they retired, conferring privately together. The eldest of them said: Do you not know that your father took from you a covenant in Allah's name, and how you fell short of your duty with respect to Yusuf before? Therefore I will by no means depart from this land until my father permits me or Allah decides for me, and He is the best of the judges:
પછી જ્યારે તેઓ તેના તરફથી નિરાશ થયા ત્યારે સલાહ કરવાને એકાંતમાં ગયા. તેઓ માંના મોટાએ કહ્યું કે શું તમે નથી જાણતા કે તમારા વાલિદે તમારી પાસેથી અલ્લાહના વાસ્તાથી અહેદ લીધો છે ? અને આની પહેલાં તમે યુસુફના સબંધમાં પણ કસુરવાર હતા; માટે હું આ ઝમીન પરથી નહિ જાઉં, જ્યાં સુધી મારા વાલિદ મને રજા નહિં આપે અથવા મારા સંબંધમાં અલ્લાહ કાંઇ ફેંસલો કરે, અને તેજ બહેતરીન ફેંસલો કરનારો છે.
