سورة الحجر
Al Hijr
و به آن‌ها از مهمان‌هاى ابراهيم خبر ده.
And inform them of the guests of Ibrahim:
અને તેમને ઇબ્રાહીમના મહેમાનોના બારામાં જણાવી દે.
هنگامى‌كه بر او وارد شدند و سلام‌كردند؛ [ابراهيم] گفت: «ما از شما بيمناكيم»!
When they entered upon him, they said, Peace. He said: Surely we are afraid of you.
જ્યારે તેઓ (મહેમાનો) તેની પાસે આવ્યા. તેમણે કહ્યું, સલામ; તેણે (ઇબ્રાહીમે) કહ્યું: બેશક અમે તમારાથી ડરીએ છીએ.
گفتند: «نترس، ما تو را به پسرى دانا بشارت مى‌دهيم»!
They said: Be not afraid, surely we give you the good news of a boy, possessing knowledge.
તેમણે કહ્યું : ડર નહિ, ખરેખર અમે તને એક સાહેબે ઇલ્મ ફરઝંદની ખુશખબર આપીએ છીએ.
گفت: «آيا به من [چنين] بشارت مى‌دهيد با اينكه پير شده‌ام؟! با اين‌حال به چه چيز بشارت مى‌دهيد»؟!
He said: Do you give me good news (of a son) when old age has come upon me?-- Of what then do you give me good news!
(ઇબ્રાહિમે) કહ્યું : હવે જયારે બુઢાપો આવી ગયો છે ત્યારે મને ખુશખબરી આપો છો ? આ શેની ખુશખબરી!
گفتند: «تو را به حق بشارت داديم؛ بنابراين جزء مأيوسان مباش».
They said: We give you good news with truth, therefore be not of the despairing.
તેમણે કહ્યું કે અમો તને હક (સાચી) ખુશખબર આપીએ છીએ માટે તું નાઉમ્મીદ થનારાઓમાંથી ન થા.
گفت: «چه كسى جز گمراهان، از رحمت پروردگارش مأيوس مى‌شود»؟!
He said: And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord but the erring ones?
તેણે કહ્યું કે ગુમરાહો સિવાય પોતાના પરવરદિગારની રહેમતથી કોણ નાઉમ્મીદ થાય?!
[سپس] گفت: «مأموريت شما چيست اى فرستادگان [خدا]»؟
He said: What is your business then, O apostles?
તેણે કહ્યું : અય રસૂલો! તમારી જવાબદારી શું છે ?
گفتند: «ما به‌سوى قومى گنهكار فرستاده شده‌ايم [تا آن‌ها را هلاك كنيم].
They said: Surely we are sent towards a guilty people,
તેમણે કહ્યું, કે બેશક અમોને એક મુજરીમ કોમ તરફ મોકલવામાં આવ્યા છે;
مگر خاندان لوط، كه همگى آن‌ها را نجات خواهيم داد.
Except Lut's followers: We will most surely deliver them all,
લૂતના પરિવાર સિવાય; બેશક તે સર્વેને અમે બચાવી લઇશું :
به‌جز همسرش، كه مقدّر داشتيم از بازماندگان [در شهر، و هلاك شوندگان] باشد»
Except his wife; We ordained that she shall surely be of those who remain behind.
સિવાય કે તેની ઔરત, અમોએ નક્કી કરી લીધું છે કે બેશક તેણી (અઝાબમાં ફસાઇને) પાછળ રહી જનારાઓમાં રહેશે.
