سورة الحجر
Al Hijr
جز ابليس، كه ابا كرد از اين كه با سجده‌كنندگان باشد.
But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance.
પણ શયતાને (ન કર્યો); તેણે સજદો કરનારાઓ સાથે થવાનો ઇન્કાર કર્યો:
[خداوند] فرمود: «اى ابليس! چرا با سجده‌كنندگان نيستى»؟!
He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance?
અલ્લાહે ફરમાવ્યું : અય ઇબ્લીસ શા માટે તું સજદો કરનારાઓ સાથે ન થયો?
گفت: «من هرگز براى بشرى كه او را از گل خشكيده‌اى كه از گل بدبويى آفريده‌اى، سجده نخواهم كرد».
He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape.
તેણે કહ્યું કે હું એવો નથી કે (એક) એવા ઇન્સાનને સજદો કરૂં કે જેને તેં કાળાશ પડતી બદબૂદાર માટીના પકાવેલા ગારમાંથી બનાવ્યો છે.
فرمود: «از آن (صف فرشتگان) بيرون رو، كه تو [از درگاه ما] رانده شده‌اى!
He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away:
તેણે ફરમાવ્યું : તું અહીંથી નીકળી જા, કારણ કે તુ હાંકી કાઢેલ છો!
و لعنت [و دورى از رحمت حق] تا روز قيامت بر تو خواهد بود».
And surely on you is curse until the day of Judgement.
અને બેશક કયામતના દિવસ સુધી તારા ઉપર લાનત થશે.
گفت: «پروردگارا! مرا تا روز رستاخيز مهلت ده [و زنده بگذار]».
He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised.
તેણે કહ્યું કે, અય મારા પરવરદિગાર! તું મને તે દિવસ સુધીની મોહલત આપ કે જે દિવસે તેઓને (ઇન્સાનને) ઉઠાડવામાં આવશે.
فرمود: تو از مهلت يافتگانى!
He said: So surely you are of the respited ones
તેણે કહ્યું, બેશક મોહલત આપવામાં આવેલામાંથી છો.
[امّا نه تا روز رستاخيز، بلكه] تا روز و وقت معيّنى.
Till the period of the time made known.
તે નક્કી થયેલ દિવસ સુધી.*
گفت: «پروردگارا! به سبب آنكه مرا گمراه ساختى، من [نعمت‌هاى مادّى را] در زمين در نظر آن‌ها جلوه مى‌دهم، و به‌يقين همگى را گمراه خواهم ساخت».
He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate
તેણે કહ્યું : અય મારા પરવરદિગાર! કારણ કે તે મને (મારા તકબ્બૂરને કારણે) ગુમરાહ કર્યો છે તેમ હું પણ દુનિયામાં (બૂરી વસ્તુઓ) તેમની (ઇન્સાનની) નજરમાં જરૂર સુશોભિત બનાવીશ અને જરૂર તેઓ સર્વોને ગુમરાહ કરીશ:
مگر بندگان خالص‌شده‌ات را.
Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones.
સિવાય કે જેઓ તારા મુખ્લીસ બંદાઓમાંથી હશે.
