Introduction

56:1

إِذا وَقَعَتِ الْواقِعَةُ

هنگامى‌كه واقعه‌ی عظيم [قيامت] واقع شود.

When the great event comes to pass,

જયારે બનનાર બનાવ બનશે :

56:2

لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِها كاذِبَةٌ

هيچ‌كس نمى‌تواند آن را انكار كند.

There is no belying its coming to pass--

અને તેના બનવામાં કંઇ જૂઠ નથી.

56:3

خافضَةٌ رافِعَةٌ

[اين واقعه] گروهى را پايين مى‌آورد و گروهى را بالا مى‌برد.

Abasing (one party), exalting (the other),

તે (કયામત) ઊલટ સૂલટ કરનારી હશે:

56:4

إِذا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا

در آن هنگام كه زمين به‌شدّت به لرزه در مى‌آيد.

When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking,

જે વખતે ઝમીનને સખત રીતે ઝટકો લાગશે.

56:5

وَ بُسَّتِ الْجِبالُ بَسًّا

و كوه‌ها درهم كوبيده مى‌شود.

And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling,

અને પહાડ ચૂરે ચૂરા થઇ જશે:

56:6

فَكانَتْ هَباءً مُنْبَثًّا

و به‌صورت غبار پراكنده درمى‌آيد.

So that they shall be as scattered dust.

પછી તે બારીક રજકણો બની ફેલાઇ જશે:

56:7

وَ كُنْتُمْ أَزْواجاً ثَلاثَةً

و شما [در آن زمان] سه گروه خواهيد بود.

And you shall be three sorts.

અને તમે ત્રણ સમૂહ થઇ જશો.

56:8

فَأَصْحابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ما أَصْحابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ

[نخست] سعادتمندان و خجستگان [هستند]؛ چه سعادتمندان و خجستگانى!

Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand!

પછી જમણા હાથવાળાઓ ! શું કહેવું જમણા હાથવાળાઓનું!

56:9

وَ أَصْحابُ الْمَشْئَمَةِ ما أَصْحابُ الْمَشْئَمَة

و [گروه ديگر] شقاوتمندان و شومانند، چه شقاوتمندان و شومانى!

And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand!

અને ડાબા હાથવાળાઓ ! શું સવાલ કરવો ડાબા હાથવાળાઓનો!

56:10

وَ السَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ

و [سوّمين گروه] پيشگامان پيشگامند.

And the foremost are the foremost,

અને આગળ વધી જનારા તો આગળ વધી જનારા જ છે:*
