سورة يونس
Yunus
[امّا به او خطاب شد]: الآن؟! در‌حالى‌كه قبلاً نافرمانى كردى، و از مفسدان بودى!
What! now! and indeed you disobeyed before and you were of the mischief-makers.
અત્યારે! અગાઊ તે નાફરમાની કરી અને તું ફસાદ કરનારાઓમાંથી હતો.
ولى امروز، بدنت را [از آب] نجات مى‌دهيم، تا عبرتى براى آيندگان باشى. و بسيارى از مردم، از نشانه‌هاى [عبرت انگيز] ما غافلند.
But We will this day deliver you with your body that you may be a sign to those after you, and most surely the majority of the people are heedless to Our communications.
પણ આજના દિવસે અમે ફકત તારા શરીરને પાણીથી છૂટકારો આપશું કે જેથી તે (શરીર) તારી પછીના લોકો માટે નિશાની બને; અને બેશક ! મોટા ભાગના લોકો અમારી આયતોથી ગાફેલ છે.
[سپس] بنى‌اسرائيل را در جايگاه خوبى منزل داديم؛ و از روزی‌هاى پاكيزه به آن‌ها عطا كرديم؛ [امّا آن‌ها به نزاع برخاستند]. و اختلاف نكردند، مگر بعد از آنكه علم و آگاهى به سراغشان آمد. پروردگار تو روز قيامت در آنچه اختلاف مى‌كردند، ميان آن‌ها داورى مى‌كند.
And certainly We lodged the children of Israel in a goodly abode and We provided them with good things; but they did not disagree until the knowledge had come to them; surely your Lord will judge between them on the resurrection day concerning that in which they disagreed.
અને ખરેખર અમે બની ઇસરાઇલને બહેતરીન મંઝીલ અતા કરી અને પાકીઝા વસ્તુઓમાંથી રોઝી આપી, પરંતુ તેઓએ ઇખ્તેલાફ ન કર્યો સિવાય કે ઇલ્મ આવી ગયા પછી. બેશક તારો પરવરદિગાર કયામતના દિવસે તેમની વચ્ચે તે તમામ બાબતોનો ફેસલો કરી દેશે કે જેમાં તેઓ ઇખ્તેલાફ કરતા હતા.
و اگر در آنچه بر تو نازل كرده‌ايم ترديدى دارى، از كسانى كه پيش از تو كتاب آسمانى را مى‌خواندند بپرس؛ به يقين، حق از طرف پروردگارت به تو رسيده است؛ بنابراين، هرگز از ترديدكنندگان مباش! [مسلّماً او ترديدى نداشت و اين درسى براى مردم بود]!
But if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed to you, ask those who read the Book before you; certainly the truth has come to you from your Lord, therefore you should not be of the disputers.
પછી અમોએ તારી તરફ જે કાંઇ નાઝિલ કર્યુ છે તેમાં જો તને શક હોય તો તે લોકો કે જેઓ તારી પહેલાં કિતાબ પઢતા હતા તેમને પૂછી જો; ખરેખર તારા પરવરદિગાર તરફથી તારી પાસે હક આવી ચૂક્યું છે, માટે હરગિઝ તું શક કરનારાઓમાંથી ન થજે.
و هرگز از كسانى مباش كه آيات خدا را تكذيب كردند، كه از زيانكاران خواهى بود.
And you should not be of those who reject the communications of Allah, (for) then you should be one of the losers.
અને તું તેઓમાંથી થજે નહિ કે જેઓ અલ્લાહની આયતોને જૂઠલાવે છે, નહિતર તું પણ નુકસાન ભોગવનારાઓમાંથી થઇ જઇશ.
[و بدان] كسانى كه فرمان پروردگار تو بر آنان تحقّق يافته، [و به جرم اعمالشان، توفيق هدايت را از آن‌ها گرفته هرگز] ايمان نمى‌آورند.
Surely those against whom the word of your Lord has proved true will not believe,
બેશક તે લોકો કે જેમના પર તારા પરવરદિગારનો કલમો (અઝાબ) સાબિત થઇ ગયો છે તેઓ હરગિઝ ઇમાન લાવશે નહિ.
هر چند تمام آيات (و نشانه‌هاى الهى) به آنان برسد، تا زمانى كه عذاب دردناك را ببينند! (زيرا تاريكى گناه، قلب‌هايشان را فرا گرفته، و راهى به روشنايى ندارند!
Though every sign should come to them, until they witness the painful chastisement.
ભલે પછી દરેક નિશાનીઓ તેમની પાસે આવી જાય એટલે સુધી કે તેઓ દર્દનાક અઝાબને નિહાળી લે. (ત્યાં સુધી ઇમાન લાવશે નહી)
چرا هيچ‌يك از شهرها و آبادي‌ها ايمان نياوردند تا ايمانشان سبب نجاتشان شود؟! مگر قوم يونس؛ هنگامى‌كه آن‌ها ايمان آوردند، عذاب رسواكننده را در زندگى دنيا از آنان برطرف ساختيم و تا مدّت معيّنى (سرآمدن اجلشان) آن‌ها را بهره‌مند ساختيم.
And wherefore was there not a town which should believe so that their belief should have profited them but the people of Yunus? When they believed, We removed from them the chastisement of disgrace in this world's life and We gave them provision till a time.
શા માટે કોઇ વસ્તી એવી નથી કે જે ઇમાન લાવે જેથી તેનું ઇમાન તેને કાંઇ ફાયદો આપે સિવાય યુનુસની કોમ; જ્યારે તેઓ ઇમાન લાવ્યા ત્યારે અમોએ દુનિયાની ઝિંદગીમાં ઝિલ્લતનો અઝાબ તેમના પરથી ટાળી દીધો અને એક મુદ્દત સુધી તેમને ફાયદો પહોંચાડ્યો.
و اگر پروردگار تو مى‌خواست، تمام كسانى كه روى زمين هستند، همگى [به اجبار] ايمان مى‌آوردند؛ آيا تو مى‌خواهى مردم را مجبور سازى كه ايمان بياورند؟! [ايمان اجبارى چه سودى دارد]؟!
And if your Lord had pleased, surely all those who are in the earth would have believed, all of them; will you then force men till they become believers?
અને અગર તારો પરવરદિગાર ચાહતે તો ઝમીન ઊપરના તમામ લોકો (બળજબરીથી) ઇમાન લઇ આવતે; શું તું લોકોને મજબૂર કરીશ એટલે સુધી કે તેઓ ઇમાન લાવે?
و هيچ‌كس نمى‌تواند ايمان بياورد، جز به خواست خدا [و توفيق و يارى و هدايت او]. و خداوند، پليدى (كفر و گناه) را بر كسانى قرار مى‌دهد كه نمى‌انديشند.
And it is not for a soul to believe except by Allah's permission; and He casts uncleanness on those who will not understand.
અને કોઇ પણ માટે શકય નથી કે અલ્લાહની રજા (અને તૌફીક) વગર ઈમાન લાવે અને (નાસ્તિકપણાની) ગંદકી તે લોકો ઊપર રાખી છે જેઓ વિચારતા નથી.
