سورة البقرة
Al Baqara
و [بر شوهران] لازم است که به زنان مطلّقه، هدیه‌ي مناسبى بدهند. این، حقّى است بر عهده‌ي مردان پرهیزگار.
And for the divorced women (too) provision (must be made) according to usage; (this is) a duty on those who guard (against evil).
અને તલાક આપવામાં આવેલી ઔરતો માટે (પણ) મુનાસિબ હદીયાની વ્યવસ્થા કરો. પરહેઝગારો પર આ એક ફરજ છે.
این‌چنین، خداوند آیات خود را براى شما شرح مى‌دهد؛ شاید بیندیشید.
Allah thus makes clear to you His communications that you may understand.
આ રીતે અલ્લાહ તમારા માટે પોતાની આયતો વાઝેહ કરે છે કે કદાચ તમે વિચારો.
آیا ندیدى گروهى [از بنى‌اسرائیل] را که از ترس مرگ، از خانه‌هاى خود فرار‌کردند و آنان هزاران نفر بودند» [و به بهانه‌ي فرار از طاعون، از شرکت در میدان جهاد خوددارى نمودند]. و خداوند فرمان مرگ آنها را صادر کرد [و به همان بیمارى مردند.] سپس آنها را زنده‌کرد؛ زیرا خداوند نسبت به مردم، داراى احسان و بخشش است؛ ولى بیشتر مردم، شکر [او را] به جا نمى‌آورند.
Have you not considered those who went forth from their homes, for fear of death, and they were thousands, then Allah said to them, Die; again He gave them life; most surely Allah is Gracious to people, but most people are not grateful.
શું તેં તે લોકોના સંબંધમાં વિચાર્યું નથી? કે જેઓ મૌતના ડરથી પોતાનાં ઘરોથી ચાલ્યા ગયા અને તેઓ હજારો હતા. પછી અલ્લાહે તેમને ફરમાવ્યું કે મરી જાઓ; પછી તેમને ફરીવાર સજીવન કર્યા; બેશક અલ્લાહ લોકો પર ફઝલ કરનાર છે પણ મોટા ભાગના લોકો શુક્ર બજાવતા નથી.
و در راه خدا، پيكار كنيد؛ و بدانيد كه خداوند، شنوا و داناست.
And fight in the way of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
અને અલ્લાહની રાહમાં જેહાદ કરો અને જાણી લો કે અલ્લાહ સાંભળનાર, જાણનાર છે.
کیست که به خدا قرض نیکویى‌دهد [و بدون منّت، انفاق کند، ] تا خداوند آن را براى او چندین برابر کند؟ و خداوند است که [روزىِ بندگان را] محدود یا گسترده مى‌سازد؛ [و انفاق، هرگز باعث کمبود روزى کسى نمى‌شود] . و [سرانجام همگى] به سوى او باز مى‌گردید.
Who is it that will offer of Allah a goodly gift, so He will multiply it to him manifold, and Allah straitens and amplifies, and you shall be returned to Him.
કોણ છે કે જે અલ્લાહને કર્ઝે હસના આપે કે જેથી અલ્લાહ તેને અસંખ્ય ગણું વધારી આપે? અને અલ્લાહ જ રોજી તંગ કરે છે અને વિશાળ કરે છે, તથા તેનીજ તરફ તમને પાછા ફેરવવામાં આવશે.
آیا مشاهده نکردى جمعى از بنى‌اسرائیل را بعد از موسى، که به یکى از پیامبرانشان گفتند: «زمامدار [و فرماندهى] براى ما برگزین، تا [زیر فرمان او] در راه خدا پیکار کنیم». [پیامبر آنها] گفت: «شاید اگر دستور پیکار به شما داده‌شود، [سرپیچى کنید، و] در راه خدا، جهاد و پیکار نکنید»! گفتند: «چگونه ممکن است در راه خدا پیکار نکنیم، درحالى‌که از خانه‌ها و فرزندانمان رانده شده‌ایم، [و شهرهاى ما به‌وسیله‌ي دشمن اشغال، و فرزندان ما اسیر شده‌اند]»؟! امّا هنگامى که دستور پیکار به آنها داده‌شد، جز عدّه‌ي کمى از آنان، همگى سرپیچى کردند. و خداوند از [اعمال و نیّات] ستمکاران، آگاه است.
Have you not considered the chiefs of the children of Israel after Musa, when they said to a prophet of theirs: Raise up for us a king, (that) we may fight in the way of Allah. He said: May it not be that you would not fight if fighting is ordained for you? They said: And what reason have we that we should not fight in the way of Allah, and we have indeed been compelled to abandon our homes and our children. But when fighting was ordained for them, they turned back, except a few of them, and Allah knows the unjust.
શું તેં મૂસા પછીના બની ઈસરાઈલીઓની જમાઅતને નથી જોઇ ? જયારે તેમણે તેમના પયગમ્બરને કહ્યું કે, અમારા માટે એક બાદશાહ નિયુક્ત કર (જેથી) અમે અલ્લાહની રાહમાં લડીએ; તેણે ફરમાવ્યું કે, શું એવું શક્ય નથી કે તમારા પર જેહાદ લખી દેવામાં (વાજિબ કરવામાં) આવે અને તમે જેહાદ ન કરો, નાફરમાની કરો. તેમણે કહ્યું કે જ્યારે અમને અમારા ઘરોમાંથી કાઢી મૂકવામાં આવ્યા છે તથા અમને અમારા (બાળ) બચ્ચાઓથી જુદા પાડી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે તો પછી અમારા માટે શું કારણ હોય શકે કે અમે અલ્લાહની રાહમાં ન લડીએ! પછી જયારે તેમના પર જેહાદ લખી દેવામાં(વાજિબ કરવામાં) આવ્યો ત્યારે તેઓમાંના થોડાક સિવાય સઘળા જ ફરી ગયા; અને અલ્લાહ ઝાલિમોથી સારી રીતે વાકેફ છે.
و پیامبرشان به آنها گفت: «خداوند «طالوت» را براى زمامدارى شما برگزیده است». گفتند: «چگونه او بر ما حکومت کند، با این که ما از او شایسته‌تریم، و او ثروت زیادى ندارد؟!» گفت: «خدا او را بر شما برگزیده و او را در دانش و توانایى جسمانى، فزونى بخشیده‌است. خداوند، مُلکش را به هر‌کس بخواهد، مى بخشد؛ و احسان خداوند، گسترده است؛ و [از لیاقت افراد] آگاه است».
And their prophet said to them: Surely Allah has raised Talut to be a king over you. They said: How can he hold kingship over us while we have a greater right to kingship than he, and he has not been granted an abundance of wealth? He said: Surely Allah has chosen him in preference to you, and He has increased him abundantly in knowledge and physique, and Allah grants His kingdom to whom He pleases, and Allah is Amplegiving, Knowing.
અને તેમને તેમના નબીએ કહ્યું કે બેશક અલ્લાહે તમારા માટે તાલૂતને બાદશાહ નિમ્યો છે ત્યારે તેઓએ કહ્યું કે તે અમારા પર હુકૂમત કેવી રીતે કરી શકે જયારે કે હુકૂમત માટે અમે તેના કરતાં વધુ લાયક છીએ, (વળી) તેને માલો-દૌલતમાં વિશાળતા નથી આપવામાં આવી; (નબીએ) ફરમાવ્યું કે બેશક અલ્લાહે તેને તમારા ઉપર ચૂંટી કાઢયો છે અને તેને ઇલ્મ તથા જિસ્માની (તાકતમાં) વિશાળતા આપી છે; અલ્લાહ પોતાની હુકૂમત જેને ચાહે છે તેને અતા કરે છે; અને અલ્લાહ વિશાળતાવાળો અને ખૂબજ જાણનાર છે.
و پیامبرشان به آنها گفت: «نشانه‌ي حکومت او، این است که «صندوق عهد» به‌سوى شما خواهد‌آمد. که در آن، آرامشى از پروردگار شما، و یادگارهایى از خاندان موسى و هارون قرار دارد؛ در حالى که فرشتگان، آن را حمل مى‌کنند. در این موضوع، نشانه‌اى [روشن] براى شماست؛ اگر ایمان داشته باشید».
And the prophet said to them: Surely the sign of His kingdom is, that there shall come to you the chest in which there is tranquillity from your Lord and residue of the relics of what the children of Musa and the children of Haroun have left, the angels bearing it; most surely there is a sign in this for those who believe.
અને તેમને તેમના નબીએ કહ્યું કે તેની બાદશાહતની ઓળખ એ છે કે તમારી પાસે તે સંદુક આવશે કે જેમાં તમારા પરવરદિગાર તરફથી સકીના (શાંતીનું કારણ) હશે અને તેમાં મૂસા તથા હારૂનની ઓલાદે પાછળ મૂકેલી (પાકીઝા) વસ્તુઓ હશે (અને) ફરિશ્તાઓએ તેને ઊંચકેલી હશે; બેશક તમારા માટે તેમાં એક નિશાની છે, જો તમે ઈમાન ધરાવતા હોવ તો.
ایمان بیشترى داشتند] گفتند: «چه بسیار گروه‌هاى کوچک که به خواست خدا، بر گروه‌هاى بزرگ پیروز شدند». و خداوند با صابران [و استقامت‌کنندگان] است.
So when Talut departed with the forces, he said: Surely Allah will try you with a river; whoever then drinks from it, he is not of me, and whoever does not taste of it, he is surely of me, except he who takes with his hand as much of it as fills the hand; but with the exception of a few of them they drank from it. So when he had crossed it, he and those who believed with him, they said: We have today no power against Jalut and his forces. Those who were sure that they would meet their Lord said: How often has a small party vanquished a numerous host by Allah's permission, and Allah is with the patient.
પછી જયારે તાલૂત લશ્કર લઈને (વતનથી) દૂર થયો ત્યારે તેણે કહ્યું કે બેશક અલ્લાહ એક નહેર (ના પાણી)થી તમારી કસોટી કરશે, પછી જે તેમાંથી પી લેશે તે મારો (સાથી) નથી, અને જે તેને પીશે નહિ તે ખરેખર મારો (સાથી) છે, સિવાય કે જે પોતાના ખોબામાં સમાય તેટલું પીવે, (પરંતુ) તેઓમાંથી (ગણતરીના) થોડાક (લોકો) સિવાય સઘળાઓએ પાણી પીધું; પછી જયારે તે તથા તેના ઈમાનદાર સાથીઓ તે (નહેર)ને ઓળંગી ગયા, ત્યારે તેઓએ કહ્યું કે આજે અમારામાં જાલૂત અને તેના લશ્કરનો મુકાબલો કરવાની શક્તિ નથી; અને જેઓને અલ્લાહની મુલાકાતની ખાત્રી હતી તેઓએ કહ્યું ઘણી વખત એવું બને છે કે એક નાનો ગિરોહ મોટા ગિરોહ ઊપર અલ્લાહના હુકમથી કાબૂ મેળવી લે છે અને અલ્લાહ સબ્ર કરનારાઓની સાથે છે.
و هنگامى که در برابر «جالوت» و سپاهیان او قرار گرفتند گفتند: «پروردگارا! شکیبایى و استقامت را بر ما فرو ریز؛ و قدم‌هاى ما را ثابت بدار؛ و ما را بر جمعیّت کافران، پیروز گردان»
And when they went out against Jalut and his forces they said: Our Lord, pour down upon us patience, and make our steps firm and assist us against the unbelieving people.
અને જયારે તેઓએ જાલૂત અને તેના લશ્કરનો સામનો કર્યો ત્યારે તેમણે કહ્યુ કે અય અમારા પરવરદિગાર! અમારા ઊપર સબ્રને વરસાવ અને અમને સાબિત કદમ રાખ અને તે નાસ્તિક કોમની વિરૂધ્ધ અમારી મદદ કર.
